"It's just that time of the month," Lara replies almost immediately, and the lull returns.

"Have you tried using the spell you cast on Zach?" He raises the question, but Lara had had enough of talking about Zach, or whatever his name is. She chooses not to respond, and her fist is clenched under the table.

"Yes?" She answers tersely.

"Nope," she lies, standing up and taking her leftovers to the kitchen.
