Chapter 89. Pearl Academy
“Welcome to Pearl Academy, the boarding school for special children.” An odd-looking woman of geriatric age shows Lara her full set of dentition in a smile that reeks of secrets. Seated across a piece of office furniture, she possesses a gothic look, clad in all-black, high shoulder-pad raiment with her silver hair braided and pinned upwards. Her red lipstick screamed to be noticed and the golden pendant hanging from her neck has an outlandish design.
Lara’s gut rumbles, an uneasy feeling overshadowing her as she takes a seat just in front of the woman. On her desk is a tag boldly showing her name, Lady Grace. A lady? In this part of the world?
The objects on it seem to have taken a lot of precision to arrange. A silver ballpoint pen, a long diary, and a globe are on either edge of the table.
“Miss Lara Croft, I hear your children have been checked into the hostels, yes?” She inquires, with a warm warping of lips.
