Chapter 96. Unsolved Mystery
Lara pushes out of the café with excruciating pains trailing her body. Glancing around, she sees the mess the explosion caused. Whether it was a bomb or grenade, she cannot tell. Perhaps it is just a gas explosion, nothing more.
But how about the gunshots? She wonders as she limps past several eyes of people who have gathered. They are staring at her as if she were an alien. The fact that her cap has fallen off makes her uncomfortable. Maybe they are all wondering how she survived, walking out of the café like nothing happened?
She sets her face like a flint and angles toward the car park, as the crowd makes way for her to pass through.
The explosion leaves a pungent smell in the air which at some point, forces Lara To sneeze. She can also hear the echo of sirens in the distance. It is clear that before long, the police and press would swarm the location. She did not want such exposure to the public eye again.
