Chapter 20. To the Ground
ISABELLA’S POV
After Dante and I finished with our very improper and loud sex, we showered and started headed downstairs to the living room where ten guards were supposed to be lined up waiting for questioning. Valencia seems to be still holed up in Marco’s room and I really want to know how Marco is doing but I have a feeling Valencia should just be left alone with Marco for the rest of the night.
Tomorrow’s a new day and I’ll have all the time in the world to spend with Marco and Valencia.
As Dante and I walk down the stairs, he suddenly stops in his tracks as he starts fuming with anger and something tells me it’s due to the lack of the presence of one of his guards. Down in the living room, I can only count nine guards instead of ten. One of them isn’t here and something tells me that’s enough proof to conclude that the traitor was one of his guards.
No one disobeys Dante and if a guard is going to be absent for his duties, they are to inform Dante
