Chapter 26. You Did So Good

ISABELLA’S POV

“Okay then Dante. How about you start by explaining to us why the hell someone wants you and your fiancée dead?” One of the younger men asks. The atmosphere in here is so intense and everyone is glaring at each other and I feel so out of place in my dress and heels.

“This doesn’t change anything.’ Dante says leaning forwards, placing his elbows on the table as he glares at every single person sitting in the room. I can tell they’re scared of him but they more scared for their lives, and now think I know exactly where this meeting is going.

Dante has been seen as the most powerful man in the mafia kingdom for so long and now, his authority is being questioned. With everything that has happened I’m sure these men in here have been questioning the power that Dante holds and like my dad, instead of supporting Dante, they want to cut him off.

I keep wondering why my dad is not here but I guess he must have declined the invitation after what h
