Chapter 51. Wedding Ruined

ISABELLA’S POV

“I’m happy that this alliance of ours is finally official.” My father says handshaking Dante. He doesn’t even spare me a glance or congratulate me as any normal father should. Dante doesn’t return my father’s smile. Out of respect and decorum, he returns my father’s handshake with one hand while keeping the other hand wrapped around my waist.

My father takes off to make a call and I excuse myself from Dante’s side as I walk over to Valencia’s parents. “Are you all having fun?”

I ask them and they shyly nod their heads as they observe the scene. My face falls and all I can think about is how sorry I feel for them. I want to help them be more comfortable here and I do not want them to be afraid of me or Dante or Marco. I take a step closer to them and I notice Valencia’s parents visibly flinch.
