Chapter 100. Another Face
Elizabeth POV
I turned my head to Savannah. “Do you…have something I can put on?”
Skyler, who stood behind Marku, rummaged through his pack. “I—uh—I don’t have a shirt big enough. Sorry.”
Savannah spoke up then, stepping forward. “Give me a moment.” She melted into the shadows, returning almost instantly with a large, soft blanket.
Daniel finally shifted, uncurling slightly to give me space. Savannah wrapped the blanket around my shoulders, tucking it snug under my arms. I pulled it closed at my chest, grateful for the cover and the sense of privacy it granted.
Seated between his powerful legs, my back pressed into him, I watched Marku approach. His dark eyes held an unreadable expression—pride, perhaps, or an ancient hunger. He crouched low, sinewy muscles flexing beneath his ebony skin.
