I stared at Alpha in mounting horror. His eyes glittered with that same terrible light I’d seen before, that cruel, merciless glint that told me he would do exactly what I feared: he would turn his own son rogue. In that moment, I knew I had to act. Summoning every ounce of courage I had left, I blurted out, “The mark doesn’t belong to Daniel!”
