“Your scents haven’t fully merged yet,” he pronounced, voice low and smug. “If I had to wager, you only shared a single coupling, not the several that permanently seal the bond. I’ve never bonded with a Wolf before, which makes it all the easier for me to destroy your link—and install mine in its place. What could be more gratifying, playing the game with that insolent son of mine, than robbing him of his most treasured prize?”
“No, no… no,” I whispered, my stomach churning with revulsion at the suggestion.
He merely nodded, his lips parting in a slow, cruel smile as he stroked his throat with one hand. He considered the idea, licking his lips as if he could already taste my helplessness. “Yes. I couldn’t have your mother as my mate, but I can certainly bind you to me, beyond any hope of undoing it. We’ve got plenty of time to complete every coupling required…” His voice trailed into a low grow
