Heart racing and feeling like he was drowning, he tried his best to get more air by breathing in deeply before breathing out. But nothing helped.

He could not let go of the skin on his chest, he squeezed it until it literally brought him pain. He just wanted to escape his mind, so he really did not care whether he was hurting himself or not.

“We’re not,” he said in a weary voice, his eyes burning due to the tears filling them. He swallowed hard and released a shaky breath. “Don’t lie to me. We’re sitting in a fog and can’t see sh*t. There are so many hurt people around us, and some are probably dead too.”
