Chapter 227. One More Time

The engine of the car was on, but they were moving. Selena could feel the gaze of Axiel on her as she stared at her hands on her lap.

She knew that if she wanted him to trust her and for him to help her, she would need to tell him the truth. She looked up at him, and they locked eyes. From the way he looked at her, she could tell that he really did care for her.

“So um…” She hooked some of her hair behind her ears and cleared her throat softly. “My sister is brain dead right now, and Elijah is dead. I think I can do something about it, though. I’m the white-haired Luna, I should be able to do something, right?”

“Selena…” he looked at her with pity.

“Look, I don’t need your pity. I just…I just need you to help me find out how to help them.”

“I’m sorry to say, but I don’t think you can. We trained for days, and the only ability we discovered was you being able to heal…not bring people back from the dead.”
