Selena touched the little girl’s forehead and closed her eyes, ignoring what her mother was saying; she needed to focus. She did not have all the time in the world.

She put aside her pain and her anger, only focusing on what she was doing at the moment. She needed to do that, considering that this could literally cause her so much, if not cause her to even lose her life.

But she was ready to take that chance. For her little sister, she was ready to do that.

Heart pounding in her chest, she waited. She waited for something to happen. And nothing did. She knew what the goddess had told her to do, and this was it. So why was nothing happening? Why did she feel like she was crazy as everyone stared at her, even though she could not see them because her eyes were closed?
