When her sister was at work in a law office, and she was home alone, Caroline decided to take the test as instructed by the pharmacist.

She had checked her menstrual cycle earlier and was startled to realize she was two weeks late. Usually, she paid little attention to her process, marking the days in a small calendar beside her bed every month. But this time, upon close inspection, she noticed the anomaly.

She did some online research to gauge the likelihood of being pregnant. During the incident, she was entirely passive; she was brutally violated, suffering intense physical pain.
