“Uncle Torres, I think there’s a misunderstanding. It’s not like that,” Louise replied, her expression uneasy.

Though she had only recently met Theophilus, his demeanor assured her he couldn’t have done anything disgraceful to Scarlett.

“What? A misunderstanding? It’s not like that?” Moshe looked dissatisfiedly at Louise, “Louise, Scarlett is your close friend. Are you suggesting she’s lying?”

“You’re asking me if I witnessed the incident?”

“I… I didn’t,” Louise admitted truthfully.

“You didn’t see it happen? Then why are you speaking up for this Theophilus?” Moshe was clearly displeased.

Today was supposed to be Joaquin's dinner, and now his guest, Theophilus, was accused of behaving indecently with his daughter? And even Joaquin's own daughter couldn’t distinguish right from wrong in defending Theophilus?

Was Moshe being disrespected in this way?
