Gabbie POV
“You need to rest, Gabbie,” Kade ordered.
“I have to help find her.”
“Your Dad’s tracking her. That’s good enough. It took a lot out of you, babe.”
Dad was adamant the hunter’s spear would hurt her more than it did to me because she wasn’t its original holder. I saw the greed in her eyes. As much as I wanted to resent her, I was scared she might die. She was born a human in a shifter family. She was always in her sister’s shadow; this was her opportunity to stand out as a powerful hunter. Only this power came with a high price. I sighed and looked into Kade’s worried and tired eyes.
“You need to rest, too. You know I’ll only do it if you do.”
