“The river’s really full. I don’t think I can swim in it,” I said, shrinking behind the small group.

“You might not but your wolf can. The full moon’s out so no worries. Our wolves are ten times stronger than we are,” Reid said.

Elise gripped my hand. “I’ll be close by any case you lose control.”

We'd come this far. My friends could taste freedom when all I could feel was fear. I can't disappointment and I can't return to my prison. I have to face the river's strength.

I turned to Reid. “Is this really how you got in?”

Reid shrugged and then nodded. “Let’s go. We don’t have time to waste.”

“Goodbye McGregor Institute for Wayward Wolves!” Lyle laughed victoriously. "Fuck y'all!"

“If I ever see Xena or Xavier again it’ll be too soon," Elise laughed.
