Chapter 50
Alpha Jaxon’s POV
An array of tables and charcoal grills were strategically placed at the common meeting grounds. The chatter died out, replaced by the sound of breaking bones as the moon shone over us. My wolf scratched and growled to be let out, searching for his mate in the crowds. Traditionally, the run was divided into two groups, one led by the alpha and the other led by the Luna with help of the Beta and the Gamma.
I hated the idea of being separated from Scarlett but I trusted Jasper and Thiery to keep her safe. My eyes found her standing in the middle of her group in a white shiny robe, smiling at me as everyone around us shifted. Only Scarlett and I were left standing in human forms.
“Please remember to keep our link open,” I relayed my plea to my mate via our mind link. Smiling briefly when she smiled back at me, assuring me that everything would be okay. I could see it though, the beam didn’t quite reach her eyes. She was nervous although she was doing
