Chapter 24
Scarlett’s POV
On a scale of one to ten, the likelihood of someone having entered the house is one percent. We have an electric fence, and I doubt anyone would want to challenge that. But I believe someone has. Both of us heard a noise downstairs, and we looked at each other cautiously, as if fearing someone might enter the room at any moment.
With a sigh, I grabbed the pepper spray and started descending the stairs. Olive was behind me. We approached slowly until we realized the noise was coming from the kitchen. When we turned on the light and yelled, we realized there was nothing to fear. Because William and Francis were standing there, with the fridge open.
