Chapter 30
Scarlett’s POV
I woke up feeling sluggish, my body aching all over, and I couldn’t find my phone anywhere. Yesterday, I spent the day with the guys watching TV. William went out to buy household items, attend a work meeting, and check out the location for the new casino they’re setting up. He was so busy that I didn’t get to see him all day. We only saw each other when we had lunch, and then he left.
Being in the same house with him showed me how much he has to work every day. He comes home tired, eats, and falls asleep. Have his parents seen him on a typical day? Because if they have, then they must have no heart. I made sure to have his meal ready as soon as I saw him leave, left him some snacks in case he wanted something, and cleaned his room. Today, I would go out to look for a job. I needed to start building my own life. I couldn’t stay living in this house forever.
It took me half an hour to find my phone; it was hidden among the clothes I would wash
