Mérida’s POV

“Please wake up William for me. I’ll go talk to Olive and thank her for what she’s done for me.” I held onto my purse tightly. The girl in front of me nodded, looking puzzled. I knew she wanted to ask me something by the way her posture changed, so I took the first step. “Is something wrong?”

“Nothing,” she shook her head. “Is everything okay with Olive?”

“We’re friends, or at least, I think so.”

“I’m sure you are. I’ll go wake him up, tell him you’ll be outside the house waiting for him, for more privacy.”

“Thank you, really. I hope you two can work everything out. This isn’t goodbye, Scarlett. I plan to come back in January, or maybe after January. I intend to return but not to this house. I’ll obviously come occasionally because of the press, but it won’t be the same.”
