Chapter 49
Mérida’s POV
Olive got angry with me for not ending my deal with William. She’s convinced it’s a mistake, claiming that our fake romance will lead us to ruin. We’re still in the kitchen, her hands clenched on the counter, and she looks at me as if I’m crazy. I know this marriage is one of my problems, even though it doesn’t count as an emotional problem. Or so I think.
I’ve resolved my internal issues; I no longer feel heavy or like I’m committing a crime. I don’t feel like I’m doing crazy things anymore. In fact, I feel much better. I feel like I’ve taken millions of pounds off my shoulders. Maybe she doesn’t see it the same way I do, but all the hatred I had stored in my heart is gone, truly gone. My hatred no longer exists. Before, I was so full of anger that I kept doing crazy things, nearly ruining my life.
