Chapter 31. Wedding Guests
As the morning sunlight gently streamed into our temporary haven, Silas and I embarked on the task of packing our belongings, preparing for the journey that lay ahead. Silas, thankfully, appeared to be recovering well. Despite his desire to take the wheel, I insisted that he rest for the entirety of our trip, worried about the strain it could impose on him.
Before departing, we made our way to express our gratitude to Jamir, the caretaker of the house who had been instrumental in ensuring our comfortable stay during our time in the Philippines. With a sense of appreciation, I addressed him, "Jamir, I'm so grateful that you've taken such excellent care of this house. Thank you so much for helping us while we stay here for a few days," I conveyed, my words accompanied by a heartfelt hug before bidding our farewells.
