Chapter 30. Envisioned Future
Following our visit to the church, Silas and I returned to the cemetery. I was about to receive a call from Morgan when her ringtone chimed. She informed me that they were nearing our location, and moments later, we spotted their car approaching. Dad was the first to exit the vehicle, followed closely by Mariana. A rush of emotions welled up as I hugged my father and exchanged greetings with them both. The joy swelled when I heard Gabriel's excited voice from inside the car. Morgan opened the door, and with boundless enthusiasm, Gabriel sprinted towards us, his destination set firmly on Silas.
"Uncle Pier!" Gabriel's voice resonated with youthful exuberance as he closed the distance between them.
Quickly, I intervened, concerned for Silas's well-being. "Careful, Gabriel. Uncle Pier isn't feeling well; he has a fever," I cautioned, my protective instincts kicking in.
