Chapter 140. The Trial (1)
Moses got up and left the room to join his children who had gathered in the kitchen, for Samy had invented a cake that her mother had given her the recipe for. The maids looked with disgust at the mess she, Liane, Mentor and Thomás were making in the kitchen. Moses was pleased to see that they were occupied with something, after all, they seemed happy.
Pharaoh spent the afternoon with his children and eventually the whole family gathered to try Samy's cake. And so they spent the afternoon. Most of them thanked the gods that Samy was not the palace cook, which led to several jokes among them.
Outside, however, the rumbling and the fog continued unabated. And night came. Again they all gathered to have their meal together.
