Chapter 48. The Father-in-Law and the Mother-in-Law
Eliza became dizzy and Moses, who was closest, held her so she wouldn't fall. Everyone ran to see if she was all right.
Moses picked her up and carried her to one of the armchairs, ordering one of the servants to bring her some water. Alfred approached and examined her. Eliza recognized his touch immediately and opened her eyes. She stared at him for a few moments until she reached the water that Alfred helped her drink.
"It was just the excitement. She's fine." Alfred announced and immediately Moses thought of Leal.
How did he have the nerve to wish for the head of his most faithful guard and friend? It was obvious that he didn't say anything for two reasons.
The first was that he didn't want to spoil Farida's surprise and the second was that he wisely thought he had the best doctor present in the room to come to Eliza's rescue if need be.
