Chapter 54. A Decision

Moses walked back to the palace and saw an unusual scene. Eliza was standing in the garden talking to someone. Anyone who saw her would think she was mad. But Pharaoh knew better. She looked back towards the concubines' castle and then walked back to the palace.

Moses hid among the many bushes there and spied on her. She was still talking to someone walking back to the palace. It must have been her goddess. He gave her time to reach the palace and went on his way. When he reached the palace Leal was standing around in the living room, he called him over to a corner.

"Well? Have the guards accepted Simas' post as head of the royal guard well?"

"Yes, your majesty. He had no trouble adjusting. Everyone liked him."

"Did you see Farida today?"

"Yes. She was not very well, she seemed a little pale and at her request, Onis called the doctor to examine her."

"Alfred went to examine her?"
