Chapter 24

Fiona's POV:

"What is that?" Veronica asked me.

"I do not know, Mom," I answered her.

"Let me go and see for myself," Veronica said as she sneaked into the balcony to peep.

"Oh!" Veronica said as she held her chest in relief.

"A car just bumped into the tree across the street," Veronica explained.

"Oh, what a relief," I told her.

"Now let us get back to work!" Veronica told me.

"I just received a text that we need to be at the hospital, immediately," I told Veronica.

"Thomas will be discharged soon!" I announced it to her.

"That is good news, then," Veronica told me.

"Run along, child while I continue with the work here," Veronica said as she bade me goodbye.

"You can sign here," the doctor told me as I arrived at his office.

"Today, the nurse in charge noticed your brother moving his fingers," the doctor said.

"Okay," I said wondering what he meant by that.

"It means he will get better sooner
