He looked at her deeply, and Evangeline was prepared for his rejection, but he only smiled at her, and she knew that smile, the one that told her he wasn’t going to say anything good in the next second and then, she heard him say, “What’s in for me?”

“In… In for you?” She glanced at him in confusion.

“Yeah.” He leaned forward, and seeing his devilish face up close made Evangeline freeze slightly as he looked her in the eyes.

“To bail them out, you’ve got to do something worth it for me, and then I will decide whether to free them or not.”

She spread her hands and looked at him with innocent eyes. “You see, I don’t have a single coin with me.”

“C’mon, you know there is another way to pay me…” He glanced at her soft lips and licked his own. “If you kiss me right here, I will let them go.”

“No,” Evangeline subconsciously refused.

Alpha King Damien chuckled and leaned back, looking at her. “Good then, they just have to do those push-ups for anot
