Book 3: Awkward Moments
Anacá's POV
The moment Andrea opened the door, she gasped with pleasure. I could sense Eros’s presence outside the main door as I followed her to check. Yes, I was right. It was Eros and Knox, Andrea’s twin, who stood there with a wheelchair-bound Zion. I froze at the sight of Eros, unscathed and alive. After worrying all night for him, my eyes drank him in. I might be upset with him, but not upset enough to wish him dead.
“Zion!” gushed Andrea with tears in her eyes as she hugged him with relief.
“I’m fine now, baby!” He wiped her tears away. The twins rushed past me to hug their dad, but I was oblivious to it all.
So was Eros. Unaffected by the drama all around him, he held my gaze for minutes. Maybe he hadn’t expected me to be really here. I could see the hope glimmering in his eyes. Did he think I was back for good? Did he think I had forgiven him?
I didn’t. He had to try harder if he wanted me back in his life.
