Book 3: Who Is the Stranger?
Anacá's POV
I hadn’t even reached the main roads when my steering wheel pulled slightly to the left, followed by a low rumble. A rhythmic flapping sound followed, and soon I was struggling to control the car. It was a flat tyre, but how? I changed it last month.
With a sigh, I pulled over to the shoulder, turned on the hazard lights, and stepped out to inspect the damage. Sure enough, the front left tyre had deflated completely. It was frustrating since I had to reach the hospital right away.
Just then, the Ford Puma stopped right behind my car, and a middle-aged man emerged. I scowled at him, wondering what he wanted from me.
“Hello! Need help?” He smiled at me, but I frowned at him. The man’s presence made me uncomfortable. Hadn’t he been following me from my house? I had never seen him before, but there was something familiar about him.
“No, thanks. I can manage.” I massaged my temples since I had used my spar
