Book 1: A New Beginning
Danielle checked upon Angel for the umpteenth time before going to the travel agency farther down the street for a job interview. Ever since Blade had brought her here to Damien’s parents’ house in North Essendon, Melbourne, she had been looking for a job to sustain herself.
The Longmont family was friendly and rented out a tiny wing of their home to her. They even offered to look after Angel in her absence, but Danielle preferred working from home. It would solve all her problems.
“I’m here in case she wakes up, Dani. Why don’t you wrap up the interview?” said Damien’s mom, Sarah Longmont. Danielle felt indebted to them for everything they were doing for her. Damien and Sydney lived nearby and walked down to check up on her frequently. With Blade leaving the next day, Danielle was apprehensive about living with strangers, but now she was glad she had come here. Strangers were much better than her loved ones!
