Book 1: A Lone Struggle

Danielle felt much better after a week’s rest. She worked part-time for the entire week, refusing to give up the job she worked so hard for. Her productivity satisfied Mr. Everton, even though she put in fewer hours.

Blade and his wife, Justine, came over to meet her before heading to LA.

“I was so jealous of you when I met him first. I thought you were his wife!” said Justine with a chuckle.

“Oh, and you thought a married man was chasing you?” Justine nodded at Danielle and they all chuckled.

“So that was why you were running a mile from me!” They chuckled more. Danielle connected to Justine instantly, just like she had with Blade. “Why didn’t you clarify with me instead of escaping me?”

“How could I? I feared you. My mom warned me against the likes of you before I joined the hotel job.” Blade rolled his eyes at her.

“Likes of me? Hey! I’m such a lovable guy!” They chuckled even more.

“You seemed like the rich, spoiled, arroga
