Tears found their way down my cheeks. I felt hostility towards the fact that I wasn't only a burden to Kai but I had ended up putting his life in danger. I glanced at my hands which were scorched with Kai's blood. Lisa had been taken inside to clean her injuries with disinfectant and clinical cleaning kits while I waited in the waiting room to be taken care of afterward, since my injury wasn't as severe as hers.
The hospital's main door plunged open as some rogue guards escorted the lady who had visited Kai the first time he accompanied me to his house.
