Caroline's POV

The day of the celebration arrived, and we all went to the middle forest. I searched for Jackson, who was supposed to be standing beside me. He was nowhere to be found, and I asked several guards around his whereabouts, but they all had ideas about it.

It was strange that I couldn't find him, but what I found even more strange was the fact that he had already arrived at the place of the celebration and not alone.
