Sophia's POV

I woke from a restless sleep to the unmistakable scent of wolf drifting through my apartment, sharp enough to pull me straight out of bed.

I made my way into the living room, and my heart lurched the moment I saw Derick sitting there, his leg propped casually on my coffee table as though he’d been invited.

“I can’t believe this! What are you doing here?” I shouted, frustration boiling over before I’d even fully processed the sight of him.

He stood quickly. “Oh, you’re awake. I just wanted to check on you,” he said.

I glanced toward my front door, remembering distinctly that I’d locked it before falling asleep. When I asked how he’d gotten in, he simply pointed toward the window, and I stared at him, more confused
