Chapter 133. Life Is Unpredictable

Adrian’s POV

I walked fast. I needed to catch up with Iris but how come she had covered so much ground in such a short while. Her speed was admirable. I still cannot get it out if my head that she was pregnant with my pups. How had it happened? I need to talk to her about it and perhaps now that she had rejected her mate and her divorce is in progress, I might have a chance with her.

“Iris, wait up!” he called as soon as he got close enough for her to hear him.

“Adrian, thank you for standing up for me there, but that is all there is to it. We owe each other nothing!” she said as I caught up with her.

“I didn’t come here because I wanted to disrupt your marriage,” I said. “Truly, I have kept tabs on you but it is just to be sure that Sean doesn’t mistreat you, because I regretted and still regret how I treated you,” I paused to allow my words sink in.

“I was happy that you were happy in your marriage and was getting all I couldn’t give you when
