As soon as he finished speaking, he walked straight out the door, leaving Clement alone, still in disbelief, unable to fully grasp the reality of the situation.
Matthew was contemplating his return to the YR mansion, fully aware that he'd have to confront Isabella. Over the years, he had left her in a state of uncertainty, and now, returning home with a mind preoccupied with external affairs, he genuinely felt a sense of regret for her.
As he stood outside the mansion, he found himself in a state of hesitation, sighing heavily. Regardless of the battles he'd fought and the icy demeanor he'd maintained in the face of enemies, none of that brought him as much unease as the situation at present.
