“Elena!” the mother-in-law exclaimed, smiling warmly and immediately hugging her daughter-in-law. “Finally, you’re back, dear. Are you well? Was the long journey tiring?”
Elena nodded, returning the hug. “I’m fine, Mom. Where are the children?”
Mrs. Sonia chuckled, patting Elena’s back. “Your children are with your ex-husband.”
Meanwhile, in the living room, Nathan’s grandmother sat quietly in her armchair, sipping tea slowly. The old woman’s gaze was indifferent as she watched Elena enter the main room with Nathan.
“Elena, Nathan,” the grandmother greeted them flatly. “Finally, you’ve arrived.”
