Chapter 126
“Darling, I’m here…” Nathan whispered, “Our baby is waiting for you to wake up.”
Behind Nathan, Grandmother Clara arrived with her assistant. Her wrinkled face now radiated satisfaction.
“The doctor said twins?” Nathan’s grandmother’s voice trembled—between joy and relief. “Finally, the Sebastian family has two heirs at once. Good… very good. If Elena can’t get pregnant again, that’s not a problem.”
Sonia turned sharply. “Mom, Elena just fought for her life on the operating table. We can talk about heirs later.”
“I’m just stating the facts,” Grandmother Clara deflected, “Those children are gold for our future.” She sighed, looking at Nathan. “You should be happy, son.”
Nathan wiped his face, trying to stay calm. “I’m grateful my child is safe. But that happiness isn’t complete until Elena opens her eyes.”
“The health of my granddaughter-in-law is important, of course,” Grandmother replied, more softly. “But don’t overlook this blessing.”
