Chapter 12
Elena’s eyes widened in anger. Her breath caught in her throat, unable to believe Damian could ask a question so lightly.
She leaned closer, staring at him fearlessly. “Not yet.”
Damian gave a low laugh. “Jesus, Elena. You’re still holding onto that pregnancy? What do you think I’ll come back for if you give birth to this child?”
Elena clenched her hands tighter. Her chest heaved with emotion.
“I never thought you’d come back,” her voice was sharp as a knife.
Damian grinned. “Then you’re just torturing yourself. That child won’t have a father. Poor thing.”
Elena gave him a disgusted look, then without hesitation spat on the ground, right in front of Damian’s feet.
“I’d rather die than beg for your love, Damian.”
Damian’s jaw tightened. Clearly, his pride had been compromised.
