Nathan wrapped an arm around Elena, ignoring Thalia completely. “Come on, I’ve already booked us a place.”

Elena rose gracefully, picked up her bag, then clasped Nathan’s hand as they walked toward the door. Just before leaving, she glanced at Thalia once more, a faint, cutting smile on her lips.

“Thalia, don’t forget to prepare the financial report we discussed earlier. I want it on my desk by this afternoon,” she said calmly, though her tone carried blatant arrogance.

Thalia nodded briefly. “Yes, Mrs. Elena.” Her voice was flat, but inside she seethed. “Financial report? Ha! If only I could throw that report right in your face right now!”

In Nathan’s private car, the atmosphere was far warmer. Their driver steered smoothly along the city streets, while Elena and Nathan sat close together in the backseat.

Elena leaned her head against Nathan’s shoulder, chuckling softly. “You know, earlier I intentionally showed off your mark in front of Thalia.”
