Nathan took a deep breath. “There must be someone jealous of you. And that person knows your weakness. And your weakness is your own child.”
Elena stared at Nathan with red eyes. “If something happens to Alva...”
“Alva will be fine,” Nathan cut in quickly. “We’ll find him safe and sound. I promise.”
Suddenly, one of Elena’s bodyguards contacted her via digital walkie-talkie.
“Miss Elena, we’ve received suspicious information. Residents near the small port north of the city saw a small child being put into a car a few hours ago. The child’s features match the photo we shared. We’re on our way there.”
Elena quickly turned to Nathan and Tamara. “We’re going there too. Now!”
Nathan nodded. “I’ll drive. You calm down first.”
