After our quarrel, I joined the workplace while rubbing my swollen face. When I felt the excruciating sting, I chuckled and winced, especially when I pressed the wound behind the band-aids at the tip of my brow and on my cheek.

“Shit,” I muttered under my breath as I knelt to cover my bruises and wounds.

Everyone’s eyes widened, and jaws opened wide as soon as I walked into the office. “Mr. Yoon, what the hell happened to you?”

As he approached me, our department boss, Mr. Arman, exclaimed and raised his arm to reach my face. To avoid his touch, I swung my head to the side while he chuckled nervously with his brows wrinkled. “It seems you’ve gotten yourself into a fight.”

To reject it, I shook my head. However, I held the boss responsible for this. “No. I was irresponsible. When I tried to mend anything at home, I slipped off the ground.”

He tapped my shoulders and nodded. “You need to be more cautious. We need you at the office to be healthy
