Chapter 83
Elias’s POV
I spent the better part of the morning getting ready and organizing a week’s worth of tasks before my departure. Maya and I drove up to Hart together to finalize our plans for the Investor’s Meet. Even after that awkward moment at breakfast, she absorbed every instruction with her usual initiative and intuition. She not only drafted the entire script and content for my presentation, she also compiled the most meticulously organized research and reports I’ve ever seen. She really made everything easy.
Still, I couldn’t shake the heavy knot in my chest from earlier. With our schedule rearranged and us racing to the airport, there simply wasn’t time to address what had happened. We’d have to handle it through emails or messages once I landed.
“We’re ready, sir,” the cart driver called out as we reached the terminal.
