Chapter 45

After a long, feverish, hectic day, her first day at school is over. Faith exited the building of Valerie High into the sunny December afternoon. Although a strong breeze was blowing, she wasn't feeling cold anymore.

All the kids around her were screaming, shouting, and pushing each other, just like they were doing in the morning, yet she wasn't surprised again. The screaming increased as they kept streaming out; nonetheless, she was no longer bothered.

She felt alive and free. After the incident at the school cafeteria, the rest of the day went by in a blur; she couldn't even remember the name of a single teacher that was in the same quarters with her.

Though she didn't remember most of the things that happened today, she couldn't forget what happened in the cafeteria either. The bully, the girl, Ariel, and the boy who touched her. She could remember his face; it was different from any being she has ever met. His face is pale with black veins.
