“Eric!” I exclaimed, moving to him to give him a hug—at least to comfort him for what had just hit him and what was about to hit him.

He didn’t return the gesture because he was still in shock.

“I worked at Ace and Co for years, and I didn’t know this. How could I not have known this? You guys were way too close!” he exclaimed again.

“Such is life, brother!” Logan patted him on the shoulder. He didn’t even know who Eric was.
