Damien’s POV

Did she really mean all of that, or shouldn’t I take it to heart?

As much as I would love to get back with Anita, she just makes it really hard for me to prove myself otherwise of whatever she thinks.

Not to even talk of the cold attitude…

And besides, I had little to no time left to bond with our kids; how can that be impossible? I would still need her regardless.

There’s only little that material things can do.

And going to Chicago would be me crossing the line of opportunity.

I laid on my bed while I brainstormed my ideas. I had also planted an invitation card for Anita in the kiddies toys; hopefully she sees it and tries to come.

While I thought back and forth, my phone rang up.

“Sup!” I said this over the phone to Jason, who, surprisingly, has been calling me more frequently than usual.

“Did Joan come over the other day?”

When did he suddenly get interested in my relationship with Joan?
