Chapter 55

Nathan sat beside his grandfather’s corpse in the morgue. His eyes had grown sore from crying. He was weeping uncontrollably, and his conscience was piercing.

“I’m sorry, Grandfather, I’m so sorry.” He repeatedly kept apologizing to his grandfather’s ice cold body. Madison also had a share in the dark moment that had befallen both Nathan and Henry. She wasn’t sure of what she was sad of the most—losing Mr. Jones Westbrook, one of the few men who showed her fatherly love or not being able to go over to Nathan and console him because they were still in character. They had to pretend like they were against each other.

“I am so sorry Grandfather,” Nathan still kept repeating. It was as if those were the only words he had to say.

Madison left both Max and Mark in Lila's care. She could not let them see Nathan in his distressing mood, so the moment she found out about Mr. Jones’ death, she decided it was best to leave the kids with Lila.

“I feel so sorry for him,”
