Madison walked into the coffee shop and found Jonathan seated with Lila. It was already midday.

“Girlfriend,” Lila said as she went to hug Madison. “Are you okay?” she inquired from her.

“Yes,” Madison answered. “I just feel a little bit sad for Henry and—and Nathan.”

“I know how it hurts to lose someone you love,” Lila said, sounding a bit emotional. “I’m not crying,” she was. She wiped her eyes.

“Are you alright?” Madison asked, surprised. She was shocked by the level of emotions Lila was displaying.

“Forgive me, please,” Lila said before running inside, leaving only Madison and Jonathan.

“You got a hell of a beating, heh?” Madison asked with a tick of a cheerful smile on her lips.

She leaned forward a bit and adjusted her chair closer to his. “Tell me what really happened, Jonathan.”
