Chapter 77

The previous night, Madison and Lila were unable to find the tape Lila so badly wanted. Lila even searched till morning but could not find it either. It was as if the tape mysteriously vanished.

“Mom! I’m ready to go,” Mark said to Madison after getting dressed.

They were to go to the Westbrook mansion of Nathan’s for Mark to have his arranged visit with Max. That’s how they reached agreement in favor of the kids.

“Why are you in such a hurry?” Madison asked Mark.

“I can’t wait to see Max,” Mark simply answered Madison.

“You miss her that much?” Lila asked Mark.

“Yes, I do.” Mark said as he impatiently pulled Madison by the hand.

Madison was feeling less concerned about going there because she knew she’d have to see Nathan.

“Can’t we skip today’s visit?” Madison asked Mark. “I mean, you see him every day at school, don’t you?” Madison asked Mark.

Mark agreed to be seeing Max every day at school but he still needed to have some ti
